below is a profile of Colt Grice, an Eldian Warrior candidate of Marley and the elder brother of Falco Grice.
Colt Grice was an Eldian Warrior candidate, chosen to be the next inheritor of the Beast Titan, and the older brother of Falco Grice. He was a loyal soldier of Marley who carried both the weight of responsibility for his younger brother and the duty to Marley’s military. Despite his dedication, his life was tragically cut short during the raid on Liberio.
Colt was a tall and well-built young man, with a long face, light hazel eyes, and short blond hair. His physique gave him the image of a dependable soldier among the Warrior candidates. Like his peers, he usually wore the standard Marleyan military uniform—a white jacket, pants, suspender straps, supply packs, and tall black combat boots.
As an Eldian, his outfit bore the Eldian star insignia on his shirt collar and helmet stripe, distinguishing him from Marleyans. Following Marley’s law, he also wore the Eldian armband, a symbol of both his oppression and his status. His soldierly appearance reflected his role as a future Titan inheritor and a protector of his brother.
Colt was a responsible, brave, and protective figure, especially toward his younger brother, Falco Grice. His sense of duty was twofold: loyalty to Marley as a Warrior candidate, and devotion to keeping Falco safe. He often placed Falco’s well-being above his own, shielding him from danger and ensuring he was cared for after battles.
Despite his youth, Colt displayed a strategic and tactical mindset, able to predict enemy moves and contribute meaningfully to military planning. However, he was also shown to be reckless and carefree off duty, with a known tendency to indulge in alcohol. This made him a layered character, balancing his dutiful side with moments of irresponsibility.
Childhood:
Colt was born in Liberio’s internment zone, raised under Marley’s oppressive system alongside his younger brother. From a young age, he displayed qualities of leadership and responsibility, particularly in caring for Falco.
Becoming a Warrior:
Colt was chosen as a Warrior candidate, marked as the most promising inheritor of the Beast Titan. His selection reflected not only his skills but also Marley’s trust in his potential to carry one of their most powerful Titans.
Service in Marley’s Army:
As a Warrior candidate, Colt trained extensively alongside his peers, including Gabi Braun, Udo, and Zofia. He proved himself in the battlefield, demonstrating both courage and sharp decision-making. His protective nature was most evident when he risked his life to rescue Falco during combat, even at the cost of his own safety.
Liberio Raid (854):
During the attack on Liberio by the Survey Corps, Colt played a crucial role in defending his comrades. However, his loyalty to Falco overshadowed his Warrior duties. When Falco was captured and later forced to ingest the spinal fluid of Zeke Yeager, Colt desperately tried to save him. His love for his brother culminated in his final act: shielding Falco from the Beast Titan’s scream that would transform Eldians into Titans.
Death:
Colt’s sacrifice was both tragic and heroic. By throwing himself over Falco, he attempted to protect him from Zeke’s power, but instead was engulfed by the transformation and killed instantly. His death symbolized the bond of family, as well as the cruel fate of Eldians under Marley’s rule.
Colt Grice’s story reflects the tragic cycle of the Warriors, caught between serving Marley and protecting their loved ones. Though he never inherited the Beast Titan, he embodied the qualities of a true Warrior: bravery, responsibility, and sacrifice.
