The Warriors or Warrior Unit were a special military unit of the Marleyan Armed Forces, consisting of selected Eldian children chosen to inherit the power of the Nine Titans. They served as Marley’s most powerful weapon, tasked with executing missions of global importance under strict Marleyan command.
Marleyan Military :
The primary duty of the Warriors was to seize the Founding Titan (Coordinate) from Paradis Island and return it to Marley. Beyond this, the Warriors were deployed in wars of conquest, serving as the spearhead of Marley’s military might by destroying enemy fortifications, cities, and armies. Due to their Titan powers, they were expected to carry out high-risk operations, often at the cost of their own lives.
The Warriors also had a political duty: to serve as an example of Eldian loyalty to Marley. By inheriting a Titan, an Eldian family could gain honorary Marleyan status, a privilege in Marley’s oppressive society. Thus, the Warriors were seen as tools of both military power and ideological control.
The Warrior Unit was overseen by high-ranking Marleyan officers, primarily Commander Theo Magath, who later became General. Beneath him, multiple Marleyan overseers ensured that the Warriors and Warrior Candidates were constantly indoctrinated and disciplined.
The structure of the Warrior Unit included:
Warrior Candidates: Young Eldian children trained in Liberio’s internment zone.
Chosen Warriors: Those selected to inherit one of the Nine Titans, usually between ages 10–15.
Titan Inheritors: Active members of the Warrior Unit wielding Titan powers, assigned to critical missions.
Each Warrior was expected to serve Marley for 13 years (the Titan curse lifespan), after which their power would be passed on to the next candidate.
The Warriors were indoctrinated from childhood to believe they were descendants of devils whose only path to redemption was absolute loyalty to Marley. They were forced to despise the “island devils” of Paradis, being taught that they were the true threat to world peace. The Warriors regularly recited oaths of loyalty, praising Marley while cursing their own bloodline.
