Levi Ackermann is the squad captain of the Special Operations Squad within the Scout Regiment and is widely regarded as humanity’s strongest soldier. Born and raised in the Underground City, Levi grew up in harsh conditions before being taken in and trained by his uncle, Kenny Ackermann. His exceptional combat skills, particularly with omni-directional mobility gear, made him one of the most formidable soldiers in the fight against the Titans. 

Levi has short, straight black hair styled in an undercut, sharp steel-blue eyes, and a perpetually stern expression that makes him appear both intimidating and unreadable. Despite his relatively short height, his body is compact, muscular, and conditioned to perfection from years of combat. He is most often seen in the Scout Regiment uniform with his signature white ascot, and during expeditions he wears the green hooded cloak of the Scouts. Following the Thunder Spear explosion caused by Zeke Yeager, Levi sustained severe injuries, leaving scars across his face, the loss of two fingers, and eventually confining him to a wheelchair. 

Levi is known for his cold, blunt, and abrasive demeanor, often insulting or belittling others with his sharp tongue. Despite this harsh exterior, he values his comrades’ lives deeply and despises unnecessary casualties. He is also notorious as a “clean freak,” obsessively keeping himself and his equipment spotless, even on the battlefield. Though he rarely shows emotion, Levi has a strong sense of morality and empathy, carrying the will of his fallen comrades with him. His loyalty lies with leaders he respects, most notably Commander Erwin Smith, whose vision he trusted completely. 

Levi was born to Kuchel Ackermann, a prostitute living in the Underground, and was raised in poverty until her death. He was then taken in by Kenny Ackermann, who trained him in survival skills, combat, and knife fighting before eventually abandoning him. Levi survived by forming a gang with Furlan Church and Isabel Magnolia, conducting heists until they were recruited into the Scout Regiment. Over time, Levi became an irreplaceable asset to the Scouts, feared by Titans and respected by allies. Despite his unmatched skill, he remains humble, never underestimating the dangers of battle.

Throughout his career, Levi fought relentlessly against the Titans and later against Marley, enduring tremendous personal loss, including the deaths of Erwin Smith and his original squad. Even after severe injuries, he continued to embody the resilience of humanity’s strongest soldier, dedicating his life to ensuring the survival of mankind.
