Eren Yeager was a former member of the Scout Regiment and the main protagonist of Attack on Titan. He was the only son of Grisha and Carla Yeager, the younger paternal half-brother of Zeke Yeager, and the last inheritor of the Attack Titan, Founding Titan, and War Hammer Titan.

Eren was born and raised in Shiganshina District, located on the southern edge of Wall Maria. His life changed forever in the year 845 when the Colossal Titan and Armored Titan breached the wall, leading to the destruction of his home and the death of his mother, who was devoured by a Smiling Titan. This traumatic event ignited Eren’s burning hatred toward Titans, driving him to swear that he would annihilate every last one of them.

Soon after, his father Grisha gave him the key to the basement and injected him with a Titan serum, unknowingly passing down the powers of the Attack Titan and Founding Titan. Years later, Eren, alongside his childhood friends Mikasa Ackermann and Armin Arlert, joined the 104th Cadet Corps, eventually ranking 5th in his class and later becoming a member of the Scout Regiment.

After discovering the secrets hidden in his father’s basement, Eren learned the truth about Titans, the history of Eldia and Marley, and humanity’s existence beyond the walls. This revelation shifted his hatred from Titans to the oppressive world outside, vowing to free his people at any cost.

Appearance

Human Form :

Eren was a young man of average height with a lean but muscular build. He had teal-green eyes, expressive and often filled with determination or rage, and dark brown hair that was initially short but later grew longer, reaching his shoulders by the time of the Marley infiltration.

As a child and cadet, Eren was usually seen in simple attire or the Scout Regiment uniform, with his father’s key always hanging from his neck. After infiltrating Marley, his appearance became rougher—he grew a slight mustache and goatee, tied his long hair into a man-bun, and bore a much more hardened expression.

Titan Form :

Attack Titan (15 meters): Eren’s main Titan form, lean and muscular, with elongated ears, sunken eyes, a sharp nose, and an exposed mouth full of jagged teeth. It was physically powerful and highly agile compared to most Titans.
Founding Titan: Eren’s Founding Titan, also known as the Doomsday Titan, was unlike any other. Its appearance was monstrous, resembling an enormous ribcage stretched across the ground, with a deformed skull-like head suspended by sinews. It towered above the Wall Titans, leading them during the Rumbling.
War Hammer Titan: After defeating Lara Tybur in Marley, Eren gained the ability to create weapons and structures from hardened Titan flesh, though he mostly used its powers in combination with his Attack Titan.
Pure Titan: Before inheriting his powers, Eren’s Pure Titan form was short and stocky, with rugged hair and a wide, lipless mouth that exposed sharp teeth.

Personality

Eren was best described as headstrong, impulsive, and fiercely determined. From childhood, he was obsessed with the idea of freedom and hated the complacency of those who lived passively within the walls. His defining traits were:

Violence and Rage: Eren could be extremely violent, even against humans, if it meant protecting others or achieving freedom.

Childhood (Shiganshina District): Born to Grisha and Carla Yeager, Eren grew up alongside Mikasa and Armin. He dreamed of joining the Scout Regiment after Armin showed him a book about the outside world. His life shattered when Wall Maria fell and his mother was killed by a Titan.
104th Cadet Corps: Eren joined the military with Mikasa and Armin, ranking 5th in his class. During the Battle of Trost, he discovered his Titan-shifting ability, shocking humanity but also saving countless lives.
Scout Regiment & Basement Revelation: Eren became a key member of the Scouts. After reclaiming Shiganshina, he unlocked his father’s basement and discovered the truth of Marley, Eldia, and the world beyond the walls.
Marley Infiltration: Eren disguised himself as an injured soldier in Marley. He met with Reiner Braun, showing empathy for his suffering, but still declared war on Marley, unleashing chaos during the festival and killing countless civilians. He gained the War Hammer Titan during this mission.
The Rumbling: With the Founding Titan’s power, Eren activated the Rumbling, unleashing the Wall Titans to trample the world outside Paradis. He sought to destroy all threats to his homeland, killing billions in the process.
