Information Technology PATHWAY

The Information Technology Pathway has a series of courses designed to equip students with the foundational and applicable understanding of computer science and/or game design that can be used to further their career paths in either a 4 year or 2 year degree, and in the workforce. The courses include Introduction to Computer Science, AP Computer Science Principles, AP Computer Science, Game Programming I (GTC), Introduction to Cybersecurity, and Game IT.

Computer Programming

All students will start with Introduction to Computer Science which lays the foundation of computer science and basic programming in JavaScript, with an emphasis on helping students develop logical thinking and problem solving skills. Students interested in a Programing Pathway will progress to AP Computer Science Principles where they will have the option to take the AP Computer Science Principles exam while also receiving 3 Gateway Technical College transcripted credits for Intro to Programing and Database Concepts. Students with a continued coding interest than can progress to Java based programing by taking AP Computer Science where students will be able to sit for the AP Computer Science Exam and receive Gateway Technical College 3 transcripted credits for Java Programing I

(GTC) Course can be taken through Gateway Technical College
