Engineering and Manufacturing PATHWAY

Automotive

The Automotive Pathway is created for students with an interest in the automotive industry. Students in the automotive pathway gain knowledge and skills in the repair and maintenance of vehicle systems. This study allows students to reinforce, apply, and transfer academic knowledge and skills to a variety of vehicle systems and associated repair practices. Through a partnership with Gateway Technical College students can earn 2 credits. Additionally, students can earn the sought-after Snap-on 504 multimeter certification.

Engineering/STEM

The Engineering Pathway is created to help students with an interest in the engineering design process. Students in the engineering pathway will gain the ability to problem solve while using critical thinking skills through real world application. The coursework is designed to integrate both math and science concepts into the engineering design process. Through a unique partnership with Gateway Technical College we are able to offer our students up to 12 advanced standing credits if they complete the pathway. Gateway Technical College has partnered with Milwaukee School of Engineering/Project Lead the Way to offer a seamless transition to continue education in Electrical Engineering at MSOE as credits will transfer post a 2 year completion at Gateway. Students also receive a Solidworks industry certification. Suggested additional science courses are Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Suggested additional math courses are Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, and AP Calculus.

Manufacturing

The Manufacturing Pathway is created for students with an interest in the manufacturing specifically in the area of welding. Manufacturing is one of the most sought after career areas in Southeastern Wisconsin and with the help our industry partners, students have numerous opportunities to participate in work based learning opportunities that could potentially lead to future employment. Our pathway connects to Gateway Technical college by providing 3 advanced standing credits in welding. Students have the opportunity to earn Wisconsin State Welding Certifications and six different industry recognized Starrett Precision Measuring certifications.

Construction

The Construction Pathway is created for students with an interest in the construction and woodworking trades. These classes are designed to give students real world training in the construction trades while providing opportunities for career exploration and work based learning experiences.
