Student Initiatives

The MSA is proud to exhibit student led initiatives ranging from advocacy and educational campaigns to health and wellness promotion. These projects seek to enrich and enhance the health and well-being of medical students, help build communities through fundraising and provide a platform to showcase a multitude of talents. Many of our student initiatives have membership extending beyond the MSA; these may be interdisciplinary projects, or partnerships with other external organizations.

The following are the types of initiatives that students have created over the years. Each type has multiple different student led initiatives that you may explore and choose to join. If there is an initiative that you would like join, please email the executive members of that initiative. You may also opt to form a new student lead initiative as well. Don't see an initiative you are interested in leading, or have a new idea? If you would like to register a new initiative, please complete the New Student Initiative Application Form. For more information, please contact your VP Student Affairs at msavpstudentaffairs@ualberta.ca.

MD Ambassadors

Engagement and outreach to our community is part of our broad social mandate as future medical professionals. To foster social accountability amongst our student body, the MSA has established the MD Ambassadors program.

MD Ambassadors are medical student-run community engagement initiatives aiming to promote health education and health care through sustainable outreach programs.
