Rockin' Docs Summer Camp

Rockin’ Docs Summer Camp was initiated over ten years ago, and is made possible by committed medical student volunteers from the University of Alberta Medical Students’ Association. This camp is provided at no cost to campers, who are youth ages 6-13, from local families that demonstrate financial need. These campers are provided with a special opportunity to explore careers and concepts in both science and healthcare. Furthermore, students have the opportunity to learn about the importance of a healthy, balanced lifestyle. In 2022, we were able to provide campers with an in person experience for the first time since 2019, and we hope to continue this special initiative for years to come. Rockin’ Docs truly showcases the impact of early opportunities to explore and nurture interest in science and health care, and exemplifies the long term value in providing quality educational experiences for kids who may not otherwise have access to them.
