Asclepius Medical Camp for Youth

Asclepius Medical Camp for Youth (MCFY) is a joint initiative between the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, University of Alberta and the Medical Student's Association. Established in 2009, this initiative is targeted toward high school youth (grades 10, 11 or 12 students) from a variety of non-traditional backgrounds, primarily those of lower socioeconomic status. This camp exposes youth from populations currently under-represented in medical schools to the field of medicine to reduce barriers and inspire youth to pursue health-care-related careers. In our weeklong camp, students will learn clinical skills, solve medical cases, attend lectures, learn about financial planning, and have the opportunity to speak with medical students, physicians, and patients alike. Connect with us via our socials below to support the next generation of healthcare providers!
