Shinerama

Shinerama is Canada's largest post-secondary fundraiser which takes place at over 60 colleges and universities across the country. Since 1964, when Shinerama began, more than $28 million have been donated to Cystic Fibrosis Canada and used for patient care, advocacy and research for cystic fibrosis (CF). Although CF remains the most common fatal genetic disease afflicting young Canadians, thanks in part to funds raised through Shinerama, there is hope that a cure for CF can be found in the foreseeable future. Each university's Shinerama campaign usually runs throughout an entire summer. All efforts lead up to one day known as Shine Day where volunteers go out into our communities to raise awareness about CF and raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis Canada! Shine Day for the University of Alberta Chapter is usually held during the beginning of September!
