Hailing from Bangladesh, Tasnia completed her undergraduate studies at the Bangladesh University of Engineering Technology (BUET) with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Growing up in Bangladesh, Tasina realised the economic and fiscal cost of having an underdeveloped infrastructure for a developing nation. With first-hand experience of the problematic transportation system, she was curious about the challenges faced in their transportation sector. Some of the current research works in this field such as applications of big data, machine learning, and ITS have motivated her to develop her research focus in transportation and traffic engineering.
Tasnia is now a Transportation Engineering MSc student under the supervision of Dr. Tae J. Kwon. She is currently completing the required course work before continuing with her research.
When not working on her studies and research, Tasnia enjoys competitive programming, web development, yoga, and Indian classical music.
