About Abhinav Parbhakar

Abhinav Parbhakar arrived at the University of Alberta in 2022 to finish his BSc in Computing Science upon transferring from the University of Delaware (UD). During his undergrad, Abhinav intensively studied Machine Learning (ML) in theory, which was augmented by the practical experience gained during his role as ML Intern at iNautical Software during the Summer of 2023. This background led him to pursue research, which resulted in him contributing two different projects in the Fall of 2023. Primarily, Abhinav aided Dr. Kwon as a volunteer undergraduate research assistant, and secondarily, worked as part-time ML intern at Avolta Inc, where he researched methods of improving Automotive Security by leveraging ML . Upon the completion of his BSc in Computing Science, Abhinav embarked onto graduate research under the supervision of Dr. Kwon, researching methods through which ML can further the field of Transportation Engineering, and started his MSc in Civil and Environmental Engineering, Transportation Engineering in Fall of 2024.
