Davesh Sharma is a graduate research student in Transportation Engineering, under the department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Alberta. He has 2 years of work experience in the field of Transport Planning and Engineering, with keen interest to explore and work on non-motorised and sustainable modes of transport.
He has worked on prestigious transport projects as a Project Associate in IPE Global Limited under its “Cities Infrastructure and Growth” domain. Few of the projects include development and implementation of Multi- modal transit hub, Public Bicycle Sharing, Smart Bus Shelters, Intermediate Para Transit stand and Junction Improvement and Re-design.
His undergraduate thesis focused on planning a Non-motorised transport (NMT) network connecting all the tourist sites within a study area in Puducherry (India) and proposing Public Bicycle Sharing system, for which he was awarded a 10 GPA during his Bachelors. Being a cycling enthusiast, he looks forward to promote and work on policies and projects aiming to encourage non-motorised and sustainable modes of mobility.
