Nahyeon Park is an undergraduate student in Computer Engineering at the University of Alberta.
In Fall 2025 and Winter 2026, she joined Dr. Tae J. Kwon’s group as a Dean’s Research Awards (DRA) student. Her project, “AI-Enabled Solutions for Advancing Winter Transportation in Edmonton,” looks at how machine learning and artificial intelligence can be used to monitor winter road conditions more effectively. For her, this project is meaningful because it ties classroom learning to a problem that directly affects the safety and mobility of people in cold-weather cities.
Outside of academics, Nahyeon enjoys trying out coding projects, listening to music, and experimenting with recipes when she has time to cook.
