This term the School Council have been looking into the amount of plastic packaging that is thrown away. By taking part in the 'Big Plastic Count,' they hoped to look at the amount of plastic that is thrown away in a week. This is to help pressure the government and other companies to reduce plastic waste and to create a better future for our young people. Plastic is essential for many people to live safely and independently, but walk into any supermarket and you'll see the scale of the problem right there on the shelves as almost all our food and household products are wrapped in plastic. In previous years the big plastic count has revealed that most of our plastic isn't even recycled and we wanted to take part in this year's big plastic count to find out if we had improved on our previous years. Thank you for all who took time to partake in this challenge.
