Girls' Glory!
October 2025
On Wednesday 22nd October, the Sunnymede girls' Y5/6 football team played in the SSP (school sports partnership) finals at WDF school.
With 14 schools taking part, and this being Sunnymede's first time of entering the competition, success wasn't going to come easily.
But this is Sunnymede, where determination is one of our core values!
Sunnymede played in group 1 and won all their games against 6 other schools. As if that wasn't something to be proud about, they went on to play the winners of group 2 and....won 2-0 against Oakfield Primary!
To top it all, they were the only team to concede no goals. Their stunning performance, where team work and respect for each other and also the other teams was central to their play, has gained them a place in the county finals later this term at Billericay FC.
Well done girls and what absolute stars you are! As Mr Oakes said, "they should be so proud to call themselves the winners.!
AUTUMN 2025
Year 5 have been helping our EYFS children at lunchtime this term. The children have been serving them drinks, helping them to cut up their food and clearing their plates. What excellent role models they have been!

Year 6 had an adventurous, yet tiring, start to their year with the residential to Hilltop in Sheringham forest. We challenged ourselves, shared many laughs and created many fond moments which we hope the pupils will cherish forever. Climbing, the super swing, archery and the zipwire were just a few of the fantastic activities we could try.

As part of year 2s transition to key stage 2, the children paired up with year 5 to read to each other. Year 5 read their pop-up Tuesday books, which were designed and made in design and technology. These sessions gave children the chance to collaborate.
