Scratchboard paper
8"x10"
The main idea that guided my artwork was the fact I wanted to really show off my skills and what I could do, so I ended up choosing one of my cats, Chili. He has many different stripes and spots and colours, so I figured he was a perfect candidate to put as my reference. The fur is what I really wanted to focus on because it was so intricate.
I used two different tools on the scratchboard paper, one with many wires sticking out and one that had a single sharp point.
During this whole process, I figured out many different methods and tactics to complete it. It was an entire learning process for me because this is something I haven't done since I was four with a rainbow scratchboard sketchbook and toothpick as a scraper, but this was a brand new experience.
