Where's My Head?
Acrylic Paint
The main idea that guided my artwork was my love for female anatomy and surrealism. I think the female body is absolutely beautiful and can express emotions that words can't. I didn't want to make it too difficult for myself and ruin the bottom half, so I chose to not add the head and put something else there. Flowers and plants seem to always send this message of strangeness and purity, so it ended up being the perfect candidate for the top half. If I could I would add more around the background but I ran out of time.
The materials I used were acrylic paint. I wanted to use something I knew how to use but not something I practice constantly. I chose not to use watercolor or pen/pencil because I wanted to do something different and have all kinds of mediums spread across my page.
Throughout this experience, I have gained more technical skills and practice using paint. I am familiar with part of the female body and plan to use it in later works. This project has been an inspiration to me and shown me what I can do with this medium. I plan to do many more paintings in the future knowing I have the skills for it.
