Charcoal, Ink, and Graphite on Pastel Paper

The main idea that guided my artwork was my want to show off how detailed and precise I can be. I wanted a reference to show my skill and what I can do when I sit down and focus. I chose a picture of my cat, Chili, because he has so many different patterns and designs on him. He also has such detailed fur.

I used black and white charcoal on pastel paper. The charcoal easily blended, even a little more than I would have liked. I had to wash my hands constantly because I didn't want to smudge the white with black or make a mess.

This project was a new experience for me. I had never used charcoal in this way before.
