The main idea that guided my work was the bright colors that were everywhere on the cinnamon teal duck. I wanted to show just how beautiful the reds, blues, and greens were on this duck.

The materials I used were watercolor and colored pencil on watercolor paper. I feel most comfortable using watercolor as a base, then layering colored pencil over it. This way I am able to bring out deep colors that I wouldn't have been able to do if I used just one of the materials.

This process took a few weeks of sketching, experimenting, and just figuring out how to make this creation come to life.
