For this art project, we needed to carve a design into a linoleum print that we would print onto paper. This project was kind of tough because your print would transfer backward. One way that we avoided this was by writing text backward. I chose to make the print that I drew on kind of a tribute to Ukraine but also weather-themed. This was kind of weather-themed because it was colored yellow for the sun and blue for the clouds. I kind of tributed this to Ukraine by coloring it the colors of their flag. Also, we needed to make prints on different paper and different colors to show that we could mix the colors.

For this project, the materials were rather simple. For the solid print, all we did was use black ink on normal printer paper. Next, we had to make a print on regular paper with black ink and then draw on it. For this drawing, I drew on it with a sharpie in yellow and blue. The next print we made was multicolored. In this print, we had to put a black layer on the paper and once it was dry put another color on top which I chose purple. In the last print, we put black ink on a different surface and I chose to use construction paper.

For this project, I really did no research. The only research that I maybe would have done was what the color of the Ukraine flag is. I didn't need to do this during the project since I already knew the colors since they are all over the news. For this, there was lots of practice involved. I practiced by messing up prints and not using them for the final. The only revisions that I made were after the first prints I had to carve the block deeper so certain things wouldn't show. For this project, I really didn't experiment other than using ink again. I have not done this since eighth grade so it was a big experiment.
