Extended Blind Contour Drawing

12" x 9"

Graphite Pencils, Colored Pencils, and Sharpie Marker

For this project the main idea that guided my artwork was a fish I picked out from the original piece of art. To begin this project we first had to draw our hand, face, and the face of someone else. All of these original drawings were done without looking at the paper. After we did this process in between one of the faces that we drew I found an object that looked like a fish. Once I spotted this fish I decided that is what I would make the theme of my project. The idea behind the blue background is that it is supposed to be water and the darker blue represents deeper water. In conclusion the main piece that guided my work was the fish I spotted at the beginning of the project.

For this project I used Graphite pencils, Colored pencils, and a Sharpie Marker. The graphite pencil I used was an HB. I used this pencil to outline the fish that I drew. I used a light pencil because I wanted to be able to erase it easily. The colored pencils I used for this project were the light blue and orange ones. I used the orange colored pencil to color in the fish since they are goldfish and the blue colored pencil I used for my water themed background. The sharpie marker was used when we drew the original objects. We used marker because we couldn't erase anything and because it was easier to tell where our lines were.

For this project the only research I did was how to do draw a realistic goldfish. I needed to draw a realistic goldfish because I wanted to show that one of the goldfish had been caught by someone thats why there is a goldfish in someone's hand. The only practice I did for this was drawing the initial goldfish. I practiced drawing a simple goldfish because if I was gonna draw so many I wanted them to look good. For this project the only revision I did was to three of the goldfish. I revised those three gold fish because I didn't like how they were oddly shaped compared to the rest of my project. For the experiment in this project there really weren't any except for drawing with my head not looking at the paper was different.
