Robbie's Robot

Pom Poms, Cardboard, Duck Tape, Glue, and construction paper

23" x 16" x 4.5"

For this project it was pretty simple. The summative for this project was to create an assemble sculpture using different recycled materials. For this project I chose to create a robot. For me I enjoyed this project the most. I enjoyed this project the most because it really showed how all of our skills have evolved throughout the year and the art kind of came to life. I say that this artwork came to life because it was 3d so you could feel it and you could physically feel the pop in the artwork. In conclusion the goal of this project was to create a sculpture using recycled materials.

For this project I worked with a relatively limited amount of materials. The first material that I used were cardboard. For this project this was the main material. In this project I built the head with a cardboard box along with the body. Once I did this I was able to cut up cardboard boxes to make the eyes, arms, legs, mouth, and nose. The next material that I used were pom pom's. This material was used to make the eyes on my structure. I also used duck tape because I wanted it to be like armour on the back of my sculpture. The material that I used to create this sculpture and hold it together was hot glue. The last material I used was construction paper to create a paper mache design to make armour on his front.

For this project the process was rather simple. This project really didn't require any research because I already had the materials and the idea. I also didn't practice much because once I made one body part I had the process down. For this project I did do some revisions. My one revision was that I didn't end up putting the Freeport logo onto my sculpture like I originally intended but instead put paper mache on the from. For this project most of the project was an experiment since we really haven't played with 3D art that much this year.
