Photography-1

Final Thoughts

I feel as though my time in photography class has taught me a lot of things about what to appreciate. I learned how and what some of the more simple things of a photographer make them so great. Learning some of their techniques and some of their strategies for subjects and things on that idea was incredible to learn. I feel that because I have learned some of these techniques and strategies that I will be able to make my photos stand out more.

Some of the toughest things for me to figure out all had to do with film cameras. They are hard to get used to compared to a camera we have on our phone. You had to have certain settings on it or else it wouldn't come out right. Like it might be too bright or too dark and when you're trying to make prints that can be tough. Then rolling the film to then develop it was tough because you had to have a certain amount of solution and you had to see how warm or cold the solution was to figure out how much time and how much you needed. All in all there were a lot of things that had to go into making the film and taking the photos the right way. Which I now know and I am thankful for.

My favorite subject of photography was; pattern photography because I wasn't really stressing and I ended up taking my best photo when I wasn't stressed. I looked around near the track at FHS and I saw that the asphalt had made a pretty cool looking pattern and I snapped a photo. Probably one of my favorite photos of mine and ended up making a pattern with my work. In almost all of my projects I have a photo of my feet on some type of surface. This helps me know if it is my work or not and was a way especially in film for me to know if my work was mine.

My least favorite subject was some of the film ones only because my photos got taken twice and I couldn't find them and it was in the span of me leaving them in the dark room for an hour or a day. Which meant I had to redo some of the photography work over and over again.

Now that I am finished my first semester of photography I have now found a deeper appreciation of the work that others do. I find that the effort and work that others have put in is amazing and I respect people like professionals and even my classmates for the work that they put in.
