Height: 10.5 inches

Artist Statement: When it came to the wire sculpture I was mainly trying to think of what I had lying around that I thought would be interesting to try and make and one of the things I was fascinated with was my sister's microphone she uses for classes and podcasting. I thought it would be really neat to take a look at it, and try and sculpt it with wire, little did I know it was harder than I thought. I think if I could’ve figured a stronger base everything else would’ve been ten times easier.

I used pliers and some measuring tape along with the wire itself and then there's the microphone itself that I needed to use and I ended up going from a picture of it to the actual thing as I will explain later in my process paragraph.

I started out with a picture to observe it from and then I quickly realized that I needed dimensions. So I borrowed my sisters microphone and got to work and I quickly found that the handle or the control handle thing right under the actual microphone was wider than the microphone above. So I had to make some quick changes to my plan and the way I went about my wire sculpture. After getting a decent enough base I found myself in trouble when it came to the microphone wire copy piece itself and I found that I would need to wrap excess wite around it to give a look of a microphone.
