SHort Film study

Sandy Point Buoy - This video is a trial run of a following shot that works on following an object through it's movements on different periods of time or areas.

Single Shot Cinematic Test - My attempts at keeping a solid single shot while also incorporating no edits to stabilize the footage rather work with what I had done during the filming.

Recap: I set up my camera on my friend during him riding dirtbikes and this is how it came out.

Statement: Sometimes for shoots I like to do POVs and this was a case where it was as simple as mounting a gopro onto my friends chest. It involves a lot of action shots and setting up different settings on the camera to gain better quality. For this project I had to adjust the color and brightness and aperature both through the camera and in premiere pro.

Recap: This was a car shoot, that I ended up using the film because it ended up giving off an edgy vibe.

Statement: I found this car video shoot to be more of a combination of several concepts within one. I tried to use several different movements on the car along with new angles and this is how it ended up coming out.

Recap: This was an alternative angle to a POV shot that I shot while walking around my neighborhood.

Statement: POV shots have become more popular over the past several years. I wanted to try and take my own try at it and this was my attempt. Even though I was using an older go pro I still think overall it came out good in terms of stabilization and color corrections.

Recap: This was during another one of my filming sessions of the behind the scenes.

Statement: I find a lot of interest in the POV cam videos you can find on youtube and often I feel like those showcase the unique perspective. I think there should be more unique angles like this used in different documentaries and movies.

Recap: This was a quick film adventure at Willards beach and I was mainly trying to focus on getting quality footage out in the rain.

Statement: For me personally I like to create videos through storms and different weather patterns. This video project in itself showcases that. It's often better for me to film out when it's more cloudy because I find it to be more of a different style all together.

Recap: Quick filming session of a round at Wheeler Springs Mx for Maine Motocross. This was an attempt at me getting action/moving shots.

Statement: This project wasn't hard per say, I was still trying to learn how the movements looked with my camera and how I could smooth the video out. I worked primarily through filming at 1080p 60fps so that I could get that smooth action footage. I was trying to recreate the footage you see from ESPN and Fox and NBC sports.

Artist Reflection and Statement:

Throughout this semester I have been able to learn several important concepts within filmmaking. The first concept being subject and how you portray that subject is important for the viewer. I have been working on finding different subjects throughout the semester and this has been ongoing. For my first mini project I worked on using a beach buoy as a subject. Within that, I tried making basic edits to the video, whether it was through text, color correction, white balance, or stabilization. It was a short first project but something that was a trial run of how to work video editing software like I-Movie and Adobe Premiere. For making these video projects I learned that sometimes I have to start out with editing on a simple editing software and then adjust and move up. There are many great qualities to both editing software but in terms of ease it's always good to start simple and then add. After my first couple projects I tried to add more length to several projects. I made sure to take as much footage of random things in my lifen that I could work with. One of which was during a car shoot when I decided to start filming my car. There are a lot of people who do filming on cars on Youtube and it has gained popularity over the years. That project was my attempt of creating something similar in concept. With that video I used a lot of editing on stabilization to give a better feel to some of the shots. For that shoot in general I was doing a lot of free hand. In the case of free hand I learned that even with in camera stabilization, it still won't always appear stable. In that project I also added a lot of different contrast and editing the highlights and brightness. I decided to add music to that particular project as a way of trying to copy some of the other car videos I see on youtube and in movies like the fast and furious. As time went on, and projects continued I tried to use more unique angles, like POV. Point Of View shots, are different from regular shots, POV often gains personal perspective. In several of the projects that's where I wanted to try and dabble in. It took some time to get some footage that I felt looked solid. From there it was about incorporating everything, I just started trying different things and ended up getting pretty solid results. I ended up trying more sport related footage and that's what you can see with the basketball and dirtbike projects.

Suits scene remake from Season 4 Episode 7, in this scene it shows Mike after Logan Sanders tries to steals Mike's girl to get in his head. Rachel tells Mike that her and Logan made out. Mike and Logan get into a fist fight and which leads Mike to head to Harvey's in spite of Logan and talk it out with Harvey.

This film was not intended to offend anyone and by no means are the actors professionals and therefore it is an amateur remake.

What was difficult for this scene is currating the scene in which it gives depth even if it doesn't handle any moving shots or particular describing shots.
