Artist Statement: In the zoomed shoe drawing, the ideas that went through my mind at the start was what part of the shoe should I focus on for this? Once I decided I then went on to doing the zooming and cropping process through the three sections. During the sketching and drawing process all I wanted to do was keep this simple and make it look sharp and defined with lines. The project relates to my life in the fact that I am zooming and cropping my shoe and to be more broad my shoes have probably been everywhere I have been and although objects like shoes cannot feel what I feel and cannot have thoughts like me, they still have gone places with me.

I started with using my ruler and pencil to make the three sections needed for this project, I then wrote down the dimensions of the whole piece and then got started on drawing by sketching with a 2h pencil, I wanted to make sure it looked like a part of a shoe and that it didn’t look like something completely different. I then used a 2b pencil to make the lines more defined. Then I zoomed and cropped again and again until I was down with the three sections.

I started with sketching the lines to try and get the shape to ensure that it would start looking like a shoe. I wanted to also make sure what I drew would fill the three sections with detail but at the same time wanted to keep it simple. My project went from three plain sections to three sections filled with zoomed pictures of a shoe. It went from the sketches of these lines of the shoe, to a more defined zoomed picture of the shoes laces. my next steps would probably be adding black lines to ensure the lines and make the lines the way I feel looks good.
