In these pieces, my goal was to demonstrate my knowledge of linear perspective and how I can apply it to different drawings. I believe that all four art pieces properly demonstrate my knowledge of linear perspective and am proud of how they all turned out. Especially how realistic they look as I focused on matching the drawing to a real-life location in the School perspective drawing.
For each of these pieces, I used either drawing paper or printmaking paper and an HB graphite pencil. All four drawings started out with faint sketches and then were went over again with the same pencil to darken the lines. For my final school perspective piece, I decided to use a few more materials also. I used a thin point sharpie to highlight the lines and make them more visible and finally went in with colored pencil to add little bits of color to some of the different elements. I believe that each element in each drawing was properly designed and I achieved my goals for this piece.
There was a demonstration in class performed by my art teacher which introduced us to linear perspective. This was what I based all of my sketches and final pieces on. Other than observing the demonstration there was no prior research done for these pieces. Although there were a lot of revisions. I struggled to get my horizon line the way I wanted it so it was hard for me to finalize my pieces. This is when I erased and went back and made many changes to get it the way I envisioned. After finally deciding on a sketch that's when my pieces were finished.
