Wire Water Bottle Sculpture
Wire
~6 inches tall, ~3 wide
I wanted to make my wire sculpture my water bottle because its a simple base shape but has some curves that made it harder. I was trying to figure out how my water bottle was actually shaped and how I could make it so that this sculpture looked accurate. In the end I did my water bottle without the cap on it because I didn't have time to give the detail I wanted in the design of the lid.
I used wire and pliers, and I also used my water bottle to help with some of bending the wire into the right size. I don't really like wire as a medium in general, but I'm also not a huge fan of 3D sculpture type things anyway. I prefer drawing on a flat surface a lot more. Despite that, I think the wire was ok with this project.
Overall it's a bit crooked but stands up just fine. I spent a lot of time trying to work out how to make the curved part of the water bottle look at least partially accurate, and while I'm not the happiest with how it turned out, I think it's not half bad. I struggled a lot with getting the pliers through the rest of the sculpture to tighten the connections on the inside of it, but I think I made it work at least with most of them. I did a lot of experimenting off of the sculpture with wires and different ways of connecting them and having them keep the shape and length I made them into, and I think you can kind of see where in the sculpture I started to figure that all out.
