Pure Print
Extended Print
I'm not really trying to say anything with these. I was still figuring out how different materials made different patterns with the gelli plate, and what the final product would look like. I like the way these came out because I think the colour blended well, and I like the way the added marker on the extended one shows up. I like the way the both came out, but I don't think I'll do gelli printing again anytime soon because I didn't really enjoy the process.
The materials used were fabric ink, a gelli plate, water-based washable markers, and paper. The extended print also has some other markers used on the top of it to add some colours. I like the way everything mixed together to make the designs.
I spent some time messing with different designs using just the markers that I didn't really end up liking, but I did like the way the ink looked if I used a paint brush to put it on the plate. I like seeing the brush strokes in it, I think it adds really nice texture to the whole thing. I also like the way the brush allowed me to mix colours the way I wanted to, not just by doing something half and half or almost entirely mixed together like is the case with the roller.
