Through all three of these drawings my main goal was to keep them more or less accurate to reality. I wanted to be able to look at them and know what they were. I also wanted to keep them in only graphite because I prefer the way it looks on a quick sketch-like project like these. I also intentionally didn't use an eraser on any of these because sometimes if I start erasing things I get too focused on making it accurate when, as long as I draw lightly, I could just keep going and darken necessary lines and leave others as they are.
As I said, I used graphite for these because I wanted them to look somewhat unfinished. I prefer the look of a lighter, looser sketch with something like this, plus it made the not erasing a lot easier because graphite can be very light.
I didn't spend very much time planning, I kind of just started to see what would happen. The portrait one had more thought put in for proportions and because I had to look at myself in a mirror and hold a position, but even that one only took maybe 15 minutes. Choosing to draw my earbud case took some thought, but I chose that specifically because I DO depend on them everyday. I listen to a lot of music every day so I thought it was a fitting choice overall.
