Something in this drawing that stands out to me is the necklace I had on because it looks almost out of place. My eye tends to be drawn to it a bit more than some other parts of the drawing. I'm not sure why but maybe because it's a slightly different somewhat odd shape in contrast with everything around it. Another thing my eyes are drawn to is the hair. I think the shading on it looks pretty good and there is a clear difference between my hair and my sweatshirt which I was worried about since they are both a bit dark in the picture. I do not think drawing the face went as well as I would have liked, but too late to change that now.
I used six different graphite pencils and drawing paper for this project. I like the value that graphite brings because I don't have to worry about finding materials of the right colours, which is particularly hard with coloured pencils unless they are a fairly soft set that are easier to mix colours with.
I used a grid to draw this, and I forgot to erase the lines before handing it in. I drew across the grid from the top left corner down and there are some places I would have liked to do a better job on such as the majority of the center of the face. If I were to keep working on this I would start with erasing the remaining grid lines around it, and would move on to change the face up a little so it was more realistic and a bit clearer. I think that would be where I would stop because I am happy with the rest of it.
