Donate Life 

Artist Statement: 

     For this project, we were instructed to create original artwork that spreads awareness about organ and tissue donation. For this project, I decided to do a puzzle with a missing piece.  Although simple, I feel like my artwork sends a meaningful message, and I enjoy making artwork that sheds light on an important cause. 

        We were allowed to use any media of our choice for our piece. In my artwork, I began by sketching out the title and drawings lightly in pencil. I then went in with vibrant colored pencils in pink, red, orange, and yellow. For the missing puzzle piece, as well as the messege, I used black so it would stand out. 

      Originally, my project included a hand holding the missing puzzle piece, executed in gouache. However, due to an unforeseen accident, I had to restart the project and found myself constrained by time. In response, I opted for a more straightforward design, focusing on the symbolic puzzle and experimenting further with colored pencils.
