Wire Sculpture

The point of this project was to make a sculpture of an object using wire and fish-hook connections. For our first formative, we had to take ten pieces of wire and using pliers they had to be connected together through fish-hook connection. At the end of the formative the connect pieces should stand straight up while holding it. Although this was hard to get the hang of i think that this formative went pretty well. The second formative was a cube. Again using fish-hook connections, we had to make cube from wire and it had to be able to stand up on its own. This took awhile for me to do but I finally got the sides pretty straight and it was standing up, until my laptop in my laptop case fell on it five minutes before leaving for school, and I had to fix it and it didn't look as good as it did before.

The summative then was making a sculpture based on an object. I made my sculpture based off my birkenstock. I took the wire and wrapped it around the base of the shoe and then made the treads in the shoe. I then built from the bottom up and then added the straps onto the shoe. With both the cube and the sculpture, we had to sign our names with wire.

If I could improve the summative I would have taken more time on the straps and the buckle part on the starps so it looked more accurate.
