Linoleum prints

The point of this project was to take an image and transfer the image onto a linoleum block and then carve the image to make a stamp. The image I originally chose was buoys on a wall. I made the picture completely black and white printed it 4x5 and transferred it onto the block. I began carving out the white space on my image with carvers, then realized I didn't really like it.

Following the same process I chose a picture of a bridge in Boston and began carving that picture. For this project when making the stamp we needed a solid color, a multi color, a non traditional surface, and a extended. I decided to do my solid color on a non traditional surface being green construction paper. my non traditional surface was a magazine, then my extended was city because it went a long with the bridge.

If I were to improve this project I would of made smoother carves but it was hard because I already had an image carved onto the other side.
