Mixed Media

The point of this project was to use charcoal and ink to recreate a photograph. We started with drawing a grid on our chosen photograph with one inch by one inch squares, then we drew a grid on a bigger piece of drawing paper that was to scale with our photograph. The picture I chose to recreate was a road with trees that also had snow on it. I chose this because it had many different tones like black, grey, and white.

I used a lot of charcoal in this picture. I used both black and white charcoal because it created different shades and helped with blending. I used ink for darker parts of the drawing such as some of the trees and the power lines. If I could improve anything I would blend my lines together more because you can tell that there was a grid there.

I chose this picture because of the different shades and because it's a picture of my road so I thought it was interesting to draw.
