Class Collaboration

Artist Statement:

• For this piece we had a 1x1 inch square and we had to copy the picture onto a bigger scale. I split both the small square and the big square into four quadrants so I could get a better perspective of what should go where. I used a graphite pencil to draw out my design. I found that some parts of the drawing were easier to do than others because in some areas there were big spots that were dark shading and in other parts there were very small blocks with a lot of negative space around it. The hardest thing about this drawing was getting the proportions right and accurately translating the image in a small space to the image in a big space.
