Blind Contour

Splatter Paint:

  • For this project we had to draw three things but we couldn't look at the paper while we were drawing. We had to draw our hand, ourselves, and someone else. We used sharpies to draw all of these and also a mirror to draw our self portraits. I also used watercolor pencil and watercolor paint to add color to the picture.
  • At first I only had two faces and one hand drawn on the paper. I wanted to draw another hand so then there were some similarities on both sides. I also wanted to add another face so it would fill in some of the white space and I wanted it to overlap one of the other faces.
  • I didn't want to change the pictures into anything because I wanted them to seem more abstract and to stay in their original form. I started by coloring the the hair of on the faces with watercolor pencil, then I colored the faces with water color pencil as well but then ended up painting over it with watercolor paint. Also outlined the inside of my hands with watercolor pencil. Then I took watercolor paint and I dripped it down the paper which added a cool effect to the background as well as splatter paint.
  • I think if I could improve this piece if art I would add more color to the background and paint the third face so it's not white.
