Throughout the whole year for each project, although we always got to pick what the subject was going to be for whatever the project was, we would all do the same project. Through foundations of art, I have picked up many techniques and have learned many new things such as linoleum printing, scraffito, pure contour, and many more. For this final project, we got to pick whatever we wanted to do and any topic using the techniques learned throughout the year.
I decided to paint based on the eighty-four color project. I decided to do a split image of day and night and put a willow tree in the middle. For the “day side” of my painting, I mixed yellow-orange and white paint together to make a peach color and then added yellow and orange to get a sunset effect. Then I mixed purple, blue, and black for the night side, then I drew white stars on the night side, and a sun on the day side. I then decided to do a silhouette of a willow tree in the middle because willow trees are my favorite trees but it was hard for the black to show up the night side.
If I could improve this project I would have added a little more color or maybe made a piece that had more meaning but I do like how it turned out.
