For this project I made a pure contour drawing of my croc. Then I picked one of my 3 views of a croc and zoomed it on a part of the croc. The picture on the right is the 3 zoomed views. The bottom drawing is the first zoomed in picture, then you zoom in again off of that drawing and draw a part of the bottom picture. Then I zoomed in off the middle drawing to create the top drawing. After doing the 3 zoomed in drawing I picked the bottom one to add color to, and to create a painting. For this project I used graphite pencils to draw my pure contour, and then for the project on the left, I used water colors to create a galaxy looking project. I chose to create this final drawing because I find space to be interesting, and the holes in the crocs look like planets. I used dots in the empty space of the universe to look like stars. This project is composed starting with pure contour.
Techniques showcased in my artwork are when I divided the paper into 10ths so that my project would be proportional. This technique is showcased in the bottom right drawing because it shows the paper divided into 10ths. My project evolved because at first it was just blue space in the background, but it evolved into having stars in the background. I also revised my plan because at first I wasn't going to draw a galaxy, and then I changed my plan.
The meaning behind this artwork is a universe with planets and stars. This project relates to my life because its my shoe transformed into a galaxy, from my perspective. My artwork could be stronger if the paint was more even, and didn't look so splotchy.
