Beautiful Oops

For my beautiful oops drawing I decided to draw flower. Right when I looked at the paper, with just the ink drops the first thing that came to my mind was a flower. This came to my mind because I envisioned the circle as the middle of the flower, and the line of ink as the stem. As I started to make the flower, it all started to come together and I really saw what I was envisioning. The setting is a flower on a table top in front of a window. I decided to use watered colored pencil because I thought it would really bring out the flower. What I used to complete this project was graphite pencil for an outline, then after I used water colored pencils. I chose to do this artwork because I really like flowers, and in this case I thought it would really make the ink stand out and show how I created something with it.

The techniques I used for this project was to have the ink really make a statement, and to fill in background. Instead of leaving the background all one color, I added a window with mountains so it would give the beautiful oops more complicity than a flower with just a solid background would. This project and my thinking evolved throughout this project because at first I really wasn't sure how I was supposed to turn spilled ink into a piece of art, but in the end I was really happy with how it turned and I think I might do another beautiful oops in the future because it makes your perspective change. One thing I revised in this artwork was the flower petals because at first they did not look alike, but I changed that y re-doing them and making sure to take my time.

The meaning behind my artwork is that if you turn the paper in all directions, it can really make you change perspective, and see a beautiful oops as a new opportunity. This can relate to my own life because it shows that if you make a mistake you don't have to start over, you can work with that mistake and turn it into something wonderful.
