Artist inspired project

For the artist inspired projects I was assigned the artist Leonardo Da Vinci who was known for his famous art works like the "Mona Lisa" and "The Last Supper." Aside from his famous painting Da Vinci also had many famous sketches about almost every aspect of human life. I chose the artist Rene Magritte who was known for his drawings with basically two different perspectives of a picture and is known for his painting, "The Son of Man." In his drawings he also incorporates clouds. So for my artwork I choose do a sketch of a bird on a bid house, on the bird house was the outline of a bird so you got a different perspective, and I incorporated some clouds in the background. To make this project I used mostly pencil since its a sketch, but for the darker areas I used charcoal. I made sure I blended it so that there were different color values, but everything fit together. I choose to create this image because I thought it would be a good combination of how both artist tend to create art. I used value in this project to show areas that are closer and areas that are farther away from you. This artwork is composed by using different pencil values and carefully blending.

I used low key lighting on the bird house because towards the front of the bird house the color was much lighter, and it got darker the further back to create shape. My project evolved because initially I did my project in color but I changed it to pencil since Da Vinci did a lot of sketches.

The meaning behind this project is that Da Vinci liked to do sketches about anatomy and Magritte liked to have a drawing with 2 perspectives, and clouds. This project relates to my life because I really like birds. To make my drawing stringer I would also add clouds inside the bird on the birdhouse.
