Blind Contour

I'm calling this project Invisible face because it has the physical features of a face, but it's abstract so you can only tell its a face if you look closely. With the background I was going for an abstract tie-die look. For this project I used water colors, and shapes to make my project abstract. I chose to do my project like this because I think it really catches the eye, and you have to think for a minute about what it is.

One technique I used in this project was dabbing my background with paper towel, to make it blend together, giving it a tie-die look. My project evolved from just looking like overlapped faces on a piece of paper, to becoming an abstract. One thing I revised during the project, is the hair because at first I did the drip-paint technique but it didn't work, so I decided to do it all one color.

The meaning behind my artwork is if you're making something and it doesn't turn out as you planned, its okay, because all art tells a story. This project relates to my life because when things don't go as planned, I can always still make something out of it. One thing I would do to fix my work, and to make it stronger would be to take away some of the colors, because I feel like theres to much going on.
