Eye

9"x 12"

Pen, Colored Pencils and white pen for highlights

Artist Statement:

The main idea that guided artwork was my friend Taylin Freeman because she always draws eyes and my challenge was to see if I could do as well at it as her. This artwork does not have any meaning behind it, I just wanted to see if I could do a decent-looking eye because I am not an artist at all.

The tools used to make this artwork were a pencil to lightly sketch with, a pen to go over all of the pencil, colored pencils and a white pen for the highlights/white colored pencil for highlights

I did not research anything but I did experiment because I went out of my comfort zone and I understand an eye is not that difficult but this took me a bit to do. Taylin gave me some of her tips on how to make it look more realistic and to bring this piece of art to life. I used those small tips and came out with this and I am proud of how it came out. I did the color brown for the eye because I feel as though people pay so much attention to the beauty of blue or green eyes so I decided to bring attention to the beauty of brown eyes.
