Artist Statement:

The main idea that guided my artwork was hands because we were assigned to a project where you use a picture of 2 hands that you took/came up with. We also had to put designs in the hands and I decided to do swirls. I also chose to do a waterfall falling out of the hands.

The materials used to make this artwork were graphite pencils to sketch everything out, then sharpie to go over the pencil for an outline. I then used markers to create the waterfall. I used multiple blues to try and blend them together.

Why I did swirls is because I feel that they fill up more space neatly because of their shape and they were perfect for where they are on the hand. The reason behind why I tried to mix all the blues together is because I wanted to try and create different shades in the water like water in lakes or waterfalls.
