Beautiful Oops

Artist Statement: 

The main idea that guided my artwork was when I was turning the paper around to see what the spot looked like, and I found that it looked like a leaf. Leaves instantly remind me of Fall and since Fall is on its way, I thought it would be a good piece of artwork to create. 

I made this artwork with Graphite pencils and Sharpie. I first started with the 6H sketch pencil to draw it out, then I outlined it in sharpie. after the sharpie, I decided to color it in a bit and put some clouds in the background to fill in some white space. I made the clouds with Graphite pencils and then I proceeded to blend the clouds out with the blender in my Art Kit.

 I didn’t use any color because the spot in the center was black but also because for me when Fall comes, I start to lose more energy and start to get more depressed because of Winter coming up soon after Fall. The black, gray, and white helped me put more emotion into the artwork to show how I feel about Fall and maybe how others feel about it too. I chose this structure because it seemed the most accurate for me to have leaves falling from trees up close, to fill a big part of the paper.
