Science as R4
In Science, students apply their knowledge of the different topics taught in class into various concepts. Students are able to further visualise and understand topics taught to them through hands-on activities and practicals.
During practical lessons, students carry out experiments and apply their knowledge of the scientific concepts taught in class, For example, students were taught the concept of light and colour though experiments carried out in science practical lessons involving torchlights and colour filters. Students also familiarise themselves with lab safety and precautions in order to safely execute experiments, such as wearing safety goggles at all times in the lab and learning the proper way to handle bunsen burners. They also learn how to read safety hazard signs to avoid injury when handling chemicals.
Topics learnt range from classification to atoms and molecules. Students are also taught to apply concepts learnt differently, from MCQ questions, tables and graphs, to real life scenarios.
Science allows students to build curiosity and get a better understanding of the world around them, using critical thinking and evidence to create solutions and make decisions effectively.
