R2's review of all the projects they have done
We had projects for almost every subject, and some subjects had more than one project. The due dates of the projects were also very close to each other, with some of them being due on the same day. π₯΅
This year, we had two projects. They were the storybook project, and the water management report.
(Lauren)
(Sophie)
For the storybook project, we needed to write and illustrate a story explaining what we learnt. We could write about river processes, or about the formation of a waterfall. We were challenged as we had to explain the processes as simply as possible and ensure that young children would be able to understand. For the water management report, we had to interview our friends to find out more about their water usage. We then plotted a graph to compare the water usage between the two households.
At the start of the year, we studied prose. Later on, we learnt about playwriting, and finally, we did poetry. Some of the literature works we studied were, "How Coyote Stole Fire", "Sisters & Senang", and "Singapore River". We also had projects throughout the year. They were the Creative Book Response (CBR), the and Individual Poetry Paring Assessment (IPPA).
(Jeslyn)
(Sophie)
For the CBR, we were required to read a book from a reading list and then express the story through a writing piece, art work, set design, song, or dance. As shown above, our fellow classmate, Jeslyn, designed a set for the book "Charlotte's Web". For the IPPA, we chose a poem from the five poems we studied and selected a visual text which represented the poem. After that, we wrote an analysis about the similarities between the poem and the visual text.
In ELCT, we learnt about youth issues. The topics we covered were, Youth and Peers, Youth and Family, Youth and Beauty, and Youth and Technology.
The project we did was similar to the CBR, but we had to create an artwork based on youth issues instead of a book.
These 4 artworks were done by (in order), Tiana, Joanne, Qi En, and Jeslyn .
This year, we worked on a stop-motion animation project. Creating the stop-motion was tedious as we had to do it individually due to Covid-19. However, all of us did a great job in the end!
After filming, we were required to edit and compile the pictures into a stop-motion animation. We also had to write a report and reflect on the process of creating our animation. This project was challenging as we had to take a lot of pictures, and edit them one by one. We also had to record the audio ourselves as we were not allowed to use audios found on the internet. -Sofia,R2
We have five art forms, Dance, Visual Arts (VA), Music, Theatre, and Literary Arts (LA). All art forms had projects and assessments throughout the year.

For History, we had the Historical investigation Project. We worked in groups to create an artefact based on the different civilisations we learnt about. We also wrote an individual report as well as a group reflection about the process of creating the artefact.
Above is a replica of a Chinese bamboo scroll made by one group. The painting on the scroll depicts the trade and social structure during the Qin Dynasty.
This year, we had projects and presentations. One such project was the storybook project. For Chinese, we were placed in groups and had to come up with a story based on what we learnt. For Higher Chinese, we had to come up with a story based on a piece of literature we studied.
Shown above is the storybook project and a presentation on Chinese culture.
We conducted a survey within our class to find out more about sleep and project work.
Here are some drawings done by Natalie and Rieru! π
