We have done Badminton, Tchoukball, Pickleball and outdoor cooking. In Badminton, we started with the basics like serving. It was hard for some of us to get used to serving as it was our first time playing. After a while, we got used to serving and started practising receiving. Receiving was even harder to learn and master as it required more accuracy and also agility as the opponent might hit it to different sides of the court. Therefore, we would all be very tired after ExE lessons. In the last few lessons, we did tournaments. There were three groups in total and we got into groups of 2 to play doubles. The group with the most wins would win the tournament. This was really fun as we got to play against many different people, which we found very exciting.
For Tchoukball, we learnt passing and 3-step jump shot. Passing was easier to learn as it was just throwing and catching. However, the 3-step jump shot was harder to learn as there were many things to take into account when we were doing it. The steps we take before the jump shots cannot go too far or too near or else the shot will not be placed well on the net. I feel that we did not have enough lessons to master the 3-step jump shot and therefore, had to stick to just throwing it against the net while stationary. Overall, learning Tchoukball was also a very fun experience.
I feel that Pickleball was the hardest but most interesting. I am pretty sure all of us had never heard of this sport before and therefore it was really interesting to learn about it. Pickleball was hard to learn as it was very hard to be accurate in our hits and this resulted in the ball always going to the wrong places. Over time, some of us got better at the sport but the rest of us were still struggling. Overall, Pickleball was a hard sport to learn but was certainly interesting and fun.
Finally, we had outdoor cooking. We had to cook pasta with equipment provided by the school. The ingredients were mushrooms, penne pasta, tomato sauce and spinach. We had to boil the water using the tommy cooker to cook the pasta. Cooking the pasta took about 10 minutes. After that, we would mix the sauce, spinach and mushrooms together and then heat it up for a while. Then we mixed the pasta into the sauce while heating it. This was the final step to complete the pasta. Finally, we had our completed product. Though some of us did not do so well, it was still quite an accomplishment.
