One of the first activities that we did as a class was called ‘Prime Suspects’. In this activity, the class was tasked to find all the prime numbers from 1-100. Everyone was given a piece of paper with numbers in a grid, and cross out all the prime numbers in a colourful, creative way. This was fun as we were challenged with locating all the prime numbers and while making our paper look vibrant and artistic.
Another fun activity that we did was celebrate Pi Day as a class. The first few numbers of Pi is 3.14, and so we celebrated Pi day on the fourteenth of March. We were tasked to prepare a short group presentation relating to Pi.
Some groups decided to create and present artworks that represent Pi, while some did musical performances or raps about Pi.
After the exams, the teachers were able to plan fun activities for us. Although the activities were fun and engaging to take part in, they also integrated our subjects into the activities.
Additionally, students in other schools learn about transformation geometry, thus it made sense for us to learn and appreciate it. Hence, we took part in an activity that merged our creativity and artistic knowledge with Math skills.
